Treatment and Procedure

Gastrointestinal cancers are the malignancies of digestive system, including the esophagus, stomach, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, bile ducts, small intestine, colon, rectum, and anus. Our comprehensive GI cancer care includes Advanced imaging techniques such as endoscopy, colonoscopy, CT scans, MRI, and PET scans and with biopsy procedures. Treatment involves a multidisciplinary approach including surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and targeted therapies. Minimally invasive surgical options, such as laparoscopic surgery are done to reduce recovery times and improve outcomes.

Bariatric cancers are cancers related to obesity, including certain types of GI cancers. Obesity is a risk factor for cancers such as colorectal, esophageal, pancreatic, and liver cancer. Our department does regular screening for early detection of obesity-related cancers, especially in high-risk individuals. Our team works collaboratively involving oncologists, bariatric surgeons, dietitians, and other specialists to provide comprehensive treatment and support.

The gallbladder, a small organ beneath the liver, is crucial for bile storage and fat digestion. Common gallbladder conditions include gallstones, cholecystitis (inflammation), and gallbladder cancer. Treatment involves medications to dissolve small gallstones and manage mild symptoms. Surgical procedures include Laparoscopic cholecystectomy, a minimally invasive procedure to remove the gallbladder, ensuring minimal scarring and quicker recovery. For advanced cases, open cholecystectomy might be required.

Laparoscopy, a minimally invasive surgical technique, uses small incisions and a camera (laparoscope) to perform surgeries with precision. Our advanced laparoscopy services are: Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy: Removal of the gallbladder. Laparoscopic Hernia Repair: Repair of inguinal, femoral, and abdominal hernias. Laparoscopic Appendectomy: Removal of the appendix. Laparoscopic Colectomy: Resection of a part of the colon. Laparoscopic Nephrectomy: Removal of the kidney. Laparoscopic Bariatric Surgery: Gastric bypass, sleeve gastrectomy, and adjustable gastric banding for weight loss.

A hernia occurs when an organ or tissue protrudes through a weak spot in the abdominal muscles. Types of Hernias are Inguinal, femoral, umbilical, incisional, and hiatal hernias. It can be managed by making lifestyle modifications for minor hernias and Surgical Hernia repair surgery is recommended for large hernias. Laparoscopic Surgery that is minimally invasive technique with small incisions, resulting in less pain and quicker recovery is recommended.

Colorectal surgery addresses conditions affecting the colon, rectum, and anus, including colorectal cancer, diverticulitis, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), and hemorrhoids. Our services include: Resection: Removal of cancerous sections of the colon or rectum with anastomosis , Minimally Invasive Surgery Laparoscopically for less invasive resection. Colostomy Temporary or permanent stoma creation for waste elimination if necessary. Diverticulitis Surgery Removal of affected sections of the colon to prevent recurrence.
